Library Card
Who can get a library card, how to apply, and how to use your library card.
Patrons may register for a free library card at the checkout desk.
Bring photo ID with current Iowa address or photo ID with a piece of mail addressed to you at your current address.
Parents may use their ID to register their child (under 18) for a library card.
Open Access library cards are available to residents of other counties in Iowa with a current photo ID and in accordance with Open Acess rules. Library cards expire every three years.

Check-out/renewal:
You may renew items one time for the same check-out period providing there are no reserves on that item. Renewals may be made in person at the checkout desk, by phone, or online at www.hudson.lib.ia.us (with account password)
Items may be returned in the outside drop box or at the checkout counter.
Fines and Fees:
There are no fines accrued for books, magazines, audiobooks, CDs, DVDs, or Library of Things items. Overdue fines are 5 cents a day for all electronic tablets and $5 a day for hot spots.
If item is not returned within 2 months of the due date, the patron will be charged the replacement cost and library privileges suspended until account is paid or materials returned.
If you have more than $10.00 in fines, library privileges are suspended.
Charges may be paid by cash or check at the circulation desk.
